I am very partial to Trader Joe's natural pork
casing Sweet Basil Pesto SMOKED CHICKEN &
TURKEY SAUSAGE.
On days likely to be hot, when I don't want
to heat up the air in the house, I'll move
the hot pot into the bathroom and boil a pot
of water, then pour it into a large Pyrex
measuring cup with one sausage at the bottom.
After several minutes, I pour out the water
and eat the sausage. I used to wrap it in TJ's
mediterranean flat bread along with chopped
shallots and some Dijon mustard, but recently
I just eat the sausage straight. Fewer carbs
that way.
I've been starting the morning that way for
a few weeks now. It's high protein, and not
much calories (170, acoording to the package).
Then I avoid meat for the rest of the day,
to avoid the sleep problems which come from
eating high-protein foods late in the day.
