Yes, it's possible to damage a porcelain fired cast iron sink, but it's
also possible to scratch a stainless steel sink. I can assure you, a black
sink does not stain. Had one before. :-) And, yes, they are quite heavy.
Cast Iron sinks were "standard issue" (usually in white), for many decades.
Although the white ones could be stained, a spot of bleach would instantly
remove it.
