Especially with ice cream, where the amount of air in the product
varies greatly. In the US, this can be up to 50%! To be fair, ice
cream should be sold by weight, not by volume. But what's fair in this
world?

FYI: Bags of flour may also be getting smaller. I recently saw an ad
for 3½ or 4 pound bags.
