It's cheaper to make it that way (doesn't take as many tomatoes.)
Pretty soon, it will only be available in "convenient ready to serve"
cans so you won't have to dilute it -- and it will cost even more for
the convenience.

It's just an alternate form of The Great Product Shrink. HTH :-)
