Let us know what they say. If they do dip, from what I (as a machinist)
know of the metalurgy process, I would say that it would last longer, as
they claim. But yes, I would have a difficult time being comfortable
putting a flame directly to exterior teflon. That exterior could not
hold up to that much immediate heat.

And they are using Dupont's current chemistry of Teflon, so long term
carcinogens couple be a concern.
