Went to a local chain (GIANT) on the way home and picked up a pair of
lamb shanks. They came shrinkwrapped, just like a turkey.
Opened them up and the stench was overwhelming;
Right back to the store and without question my money was refunded.
Went back to the butcher and asked him about it. Yes, says he; other
customers have complained also; you have to let them air for about
:10 minutes.
