The best way to brew coffee (a bit messy but worth it,) is simply to
brew it in very hot (not boiling water,) and straining it with a simple
cloth strainer. A no brainer, cheap, and quite effective. And yes, 300
is the cutoff for a good quality mill that will outlive you, and not one
that has to be repaired every year or so, or starts to get dull after
some time.
