What to blend with Foch

I live in North Eastern PA (short season) and I'm planning to plant either
Foch or Millot next year. I hear they are very similar. I am also looking
for another variety so that I may do some blending. Anyone have an opinion
of what grapes to blend with Foch/Millot?

A local winery has a blend of Foch and St. Croix that is absolutely
delicious. It's their San Realto Wine from James Arthur Vineyards in
Nebraska.

I planted Foch last year and harvested about 20 pounds this year. I
will be making my first (small) batch of wine with these grapes this
week. I'm eager to see how it turns out!

I've been making Foch for five years now. 16 Gal. this year. We do an
overnight soak on the skins. The wine turns out as a delicious, light and
fruity red. Although we live in a wine growing region we do Foch since it
matures in August and our others like Zin and Riesling are later and it
helps spread out the work and the Foch really is good.

That's good to hear. How long does it take to mature?

We got it into carboys a few weeks ago and it should be good about March
although I do have a note that it tasted good in late November of 2002 when
we bottled that years vintage.

Foch blended with franc flies off the shelves at a winery on the east coast,
Canada. I'm growing both foch and franc myself. Second harvest for franc.
Foch won't be ready for another season or so. But I will be blending the
two.
