I'll bet a lot of people would be interested, I sure am, would you mind
posting those plans to the group?

This isn't a binaries group so I will not post graphics. Instead I will
place a PDF on my webpage.

Be warned it's a hefty download.

You should change the people you host with (or at least your advertisers).

I didn't really want the spyware and I am happy with my wife and p***s size!

I downloaded the plans and have been studying them this morning, thinking
perhaps to build a press over the holidays.

I've never used a press, so I don't mind showing my ignorance by asking for
more info on how the press is actually used -- for example, what's the
purpose of the cheese forms? Does one place fruit in a cheese form and
press? Would I stack cheese forms and slat racks in the press?

Thanks for the info...

The square cheese form is used to build the bags containing the pulp to
pressed. You place it in the press and loosely place the cloth over the form
and fill it with pulp then fold the cloth ends over top the pulp. Remove the
form and place one of the lattice pieces on top. Repeat. When you get to the
top you use the plywood section instead of another lattice. You will then
have 4-5 5" high bags of pulp to be pressed. You can press faster with
shallower layers than one large block of pulp.

The cloths could be any tough fabric like duck, burlap, nylon, etc.

I am hosted with Tripod which does not have porn banners. It has google ad
at the top for fruit and wine related sites and tripod internal at the
bottom. If you are seeing porn you had spyware before you visited my page.
That type of spyware overrides the local banners to porn.

No spyware here. I can trace the requests going through my router and it is
all popping up through your site. This time ultralase which is less tacky
;-)

Have you done a spyware detection?

The ads you're seeing aren't generated as part of the tripod hosting.
The top of the page is text only ads and are for home gardening.
The bottom is gif banner and is monster.ca for the most part.
Neither of which is code added by it's imposed by the host who happens to
have an antispam/no adult content.

Thanks J F,

If I'm not mistaken, this was intended to press apples for cider. In
fact I have tried, and failed, to find this very set of cider press
plans before. I've wondered how well a wine press would handle apples
or how a cider press would handle grapes. Do you find that the cheeses
improve extraction from grapes over a traditional wine press? Do they
make it more inconvenient?

Erroll,

I used an "antique" cider mill to make wine for years, and it was fine.
The crusher was set a little wide for grapes, I thought, but it had a
standard wood slat basket. My friend still uses it for both wine & cider.

Apples are very pulpy by comparison with grapes so the multiple smaller
forms are used to speed of up the pressing of apples. Grapes could work with
a taller form and press just as well. When I press the apples I have them
milled to about pea size before pressing. Larger chunks are much harder to
work with and any smaller and the seeds tend to be pulverized .

That's not enough, try running Spybot and CWShred which will get everything
Adaware misses.

Better yet send me the code of the page you're viewing.

Here's a good one for you.

http://66.230.146.2/sms-universe/sms-uk-bmj2.html

which then tries to get you to download
http://64.156.31.79/100039/uk/ringtone/ringtone.exe and
http://64.156.31.79/100039/uk/ringtone/Xringtone.exe which obviously I
wouldn't take the risk of downloading. (I can't stand that bl**dy crazy

Well what do you know it does regional selections for ads. Looks like you'll
have to deal with your local laws and ISP. Those ads are not distributed
here.
Out of curiosity why are you not using popup blockers?

I wonder if a stainless steel washer basket from a Maytag washer could
be used with a welded iron frame and a bottle jack?

I built this press this past fall. I used it and a grinder (new garbage
disposal) to make 35 gallons of apple cider. It works great, except I would
leave the 4x4s that stand up a little longer so the notches have more
support from the end of the board. It was easy, except it was hard to find
wood that wasn't pressure treated.

Wow! I like that idea!
I didn't know such a piece existed. I imagine it's got to be strong
enough, and if the holes are small enough, say 1/4" or so, it should be
superb.
My 40 liter bladder press uses a perforated SS basket.

I do usually but I am a software developer (including web applications) so
have lots of available configurations to test under. This sometimes means
that the pop-up blockers are off.

I guess you don't know the crazy frog ring tone then?
