vigorous fermantation

Hi....2 days ago I put on a Wine Art Reisling 4 week kit.....the
fermantation is going like gangbusters.....you can actually hear it
"fizz" from 15-20 feet away.....I had to move it downstairs as the
temp. was up to 76-78 Deg F. or so.....is a fermantation this vigorous
the norm?....I've never had one like it.....Andy J.

I am not sure there is a norm. Some are fast and some are slow. Even with
similar conditions. Some will fizz a lot and some will go quietly about
there business and finish just as quickly. May be a function of the yeast
you are using or the nutrients in the batch or the amount of glycerin in the
must. Or it may be just happy yeast. You have a real party wine going
there! ;o)
