yellow scum on Rhubarb wine in secondary
It's been puzzling me. My Rhubarb wine has been resting in its second
secondary for a few months. Today I racked it and fined it since it's not clear. It's got great color - pink like grapefruit. A yellow/gold scum has been sitting on top of the wine all this time. I haven't had time to think too hard about it. Any idea what it is? Or if it's hazardous to the outcome? Thanks, Jim |
yellow scum on Rhubarb wine in secondary
I believe I noticed something like that on top of one of my secondarys. I
tried to remove the scum using a paper towel, and then siphoned the rest of it off with a straw (don't swallow it). And then I made sure to add 1 crushed campden tablet to the must and topped up. I'm not sure what happened there, but after I did this, it did not show up again. Others may have better suggestions. Darlene "glad heart" > wrote in message om... > It's been puzzling me.
