Winemaking patriarch Robert Mondavi dead at 94

The wine world has lost a good soul. Robert Mondavi did more for
Californian Wines than any other American. He put Californian wines on
the map and France noticed! I've done some reading about him,
incredible guy.

Not to argue his importance but the guy he was litening to was Maynard
Amerine of UC Davis. Personally I think of Agoston Haraszthy as the
father of California wines. He was responsible for getting the great
vines into California. There are lots of people that California to
where it is now, Mondavi was certainly one of them; so were the
Gallo's.
