Default Bordeaux wine aesthetic

Could it be described as follows?

- When the grape/fruit flavor which normally dominates is suppressed
through judicious blending such that it recedes into the background and
serves as a foil to other previously unnoticed flavors and aromas
(e.g., leather, smoke) which now not only can begin to make their
presence better felt by being allowed to come to the fore, but can also
go on to interact more fully in different combinations such that each
new sip presents a slightly different sensory experience.
