When I first started to drink wine at the legal age of 18 in 1975 the
choices were Meteaus Rose, Lancers and some real cheap and sweet German
Reislings, Liebframe....

In the early 80s I actually tried my first Dry Red and it was Chateau
Margaux. Did not really care for it that much but since on Honeymoon
brought back some and kept in good condition. For 20th wedding aniversary
we had bottle and it really was the best I have ever had.

We all start somewhere. Nothing will ever measure up to the 1978 C. Margaux
for me.

Well I graduated from UF law in 77 if that counts. We probably at one
time or another frequented the same demented places most of which are
thankfully torn down now.

I was particularly often found at the ABC on University on Wednesday
nights carousing with a good friend watching the drug deals and
prostitutes, oh those were the days. the rest of the time we were more
Bilbo and Gandolf's or a bar opeded by a former law student who did a
great Bette Midler show.

Bilbo and Gandolfs was my favorite place. That is where I actually drank
wine with cheese, fruit and bread baskets sitting on the floor.

Like I said mostly cheap German wines. Listening to acoustical guitars.
Those were the days.

cool.
