TN: Clos Roche Blanche 2004 Sauvignon
Opened the other night with leftover turkey.
color: pale yellow nose: explosively fruity, floral, and a little grassy palate: tropical fruits, grapefruit, crisp, a little minerality This sauvignon blanc from the Touraine could have passed in a blind tasting for a Palliser Estate SB from NZ. It was exuberantly fruity yet balanced and harmonious, putting most Sancerres to shame. At $11-12, it's a steal if you can find it. Mark Lipton |

Year-in, year-out a great deal -though not as great as yesteryear- just
a couple years ago I was paying under $7for I think the 2001. Still, it's one of the better deals out there in Sauvignon Blanc. |
