What does it mean when a bottle of wine has gone bad and there is a
purplish, uneven film around the neck of the bottle. I've had 2 different case afflicted with this. Jon |

Are you sure the wine is bad? Does it taste off? Musty, modly? I am
assuming it is a red wine. When poured into a glass, does it have a brown color. Was it stored improperly? Were the bottles stored upside down and you are just getting a sediment buildup around the neck? Who is the maker of the wine? Variety? Need more info. --Adam www.wine-journals.com |

One case was upside down, the other wasn't. Who is the maker of the > wine? Variety? The first case was Daniel Gehrs syrah. It wasn't upside down. So, just coincidence that both cases are corked or stored properly at some
point. I would take them back to where you purchases them. You should be able to get your $$ back . . . Adam T. www.wine-journals.com |
