Cost of wine - what is what?
Hello;
Here´s a good one for comparisons! Our friends the Garage Wine Importers told us the taxes and dues when selling a wine in Sweden. Here´s an example: We adress a wine from France, priced i zorros and place the exchange rate between the Swedish zloty[1] and a zorro as 9,2 sek/1EU. Price at producer, hors tax EU 3 (for non-francophone, this is not a tax on horses, but means "without tax") Transport to Sweden 0 Eu 87 Give the importer SEK 20: 2EU18 To sell it in Sweden, it ahs to go through the Systembolaget. Systembolaget due 23 %:1EU39 Systembolaget then adds flat rate SEK 3: 0EU33 Tax on alcohol, flat rate SEK 16, 56: 1EU80 Value added tax 25 % (highest in Europe): 2EU39 Price for consumer: 11EU95 So producers gets 3EU, transport gets 2EU67, importer 2EU17, monopoly 1EU72, and the State 4EU19. However, Systembolaget is owned by the state, so the 1.72 ends up in the fiscus as well - 5EU90 in toto. What´s the deal where y´all live? CHeers Nils Gustaf [1] Calling a SEK a "Swedish zloty" is in fact derogatory and condescending[2] - please accept my profound apologies to any present Poles for comparing the sturdy zloty with the good-for-little Swedish krona. [2] I first heard it in Denmark. -- Respond to nils dot lindgren at drchips dot se |
