Shops in Columbus, OH?

I just moved from Utah to Columbus, OH. Would you believe that you can
buy wine in STORES here?! Oh, 48 other states are like that? I see.
Anyway, I am looking for two types of stores: (a) those with
competitive pricing on $10-$25 bottles, especially French R+W, Aussie
R, and Cali Zin (yes, R!); and (b) those with a decent selection and
knowledgeable staff for the occasional $100 bottle. I don't pretend to
know more than I do, and appreciate the help of someone who knows her
or his stuff. Thanks.

John

Sorry I cannot help as I don't know your marketplace.

But the wines that you are seeking, really good wines that are reasonably
priced are my challenge as well. I tend to break down and but only the
good stuff that is expensive. Any idiot can do that.

The challange is finding the GREAT bottle of $15-$25 Cab that drinks like a
$150-200 Napa Bottling or Classified 1-2 Growth Bordeaux. Or a $10-15 Pinot
Noir that drinks like a $100 bottle of Burgandy.

Good Luck

Hmmm... We usually have a number of contributors from Columbus, but none
of them seem to be reading the newsgroup right now. Some names that
have come up over the years are Gentiles, MacLaren Wine Specialists,
Carnados and Stewarts. Gentiles has a wine bar and its own website:
http://www.gentiles.com. As I live in Indiana, I have no firsthand
exsperience with any of them, but they have all been recommended at one
time or another.
