Default Long Island, New York wineries

I will be visiting New York, from California, in a couple of months and have
a day or to to check out wineries on Long Island. I've been told there are
about 30 of them and would like some help sorting out the 5 to 10 most
worthy of a visit. A friend, who used to run sales for a California
Foothills winery, has told me there are some really very good wines to be
found among these wineries. Leads please?? Thanks.

The best LI wines I've had were from Macari.

I haven't had, but Paumanok Vineyards has very strong rep.

The owners at Old Field (Ros and Chris Baiz) are friends of mine. Until
recently they were unusual in making a good Pinot, but ask if they
still have the '97 Pinot Reserve. http://www.theoldfield.com/

I've had good wines from Lenz, but spottier. Spottier still is
Pelligrini.
