Wednesday Kielbasa and cabbage (3 cabbages actually) with a dill/mustard sauce
2015 David and Nadia Aristargos (Swartland)
David Sadie doesnt use his last name to avoid confusion with better known Sadie Family. 35% Chenin Blanc/23% Roussanne/15% Clairette blanche/19% Viognier/8% Semillon. Even though only a …“, I thought the CB showed through. Honied, waxy, good acidity and quite structured. Fun. B+/B

Friday pot roast
Cooking wine was the 2017 St Francis Cabernet Sauvignon (Sonoma County). OK for cooking, nothing flawed or incorrect, but for my tastes this was gloppily sweet and flabby,. Blueberry and black cherry fruit, vanilla extract, not much structure. C+

Luckily I wasnt drinking it with dinner. My local non-serious wine group decided to do a Zoom as still a bit cold for outdoor, only 4 of us drinking (one in long Covid, one sick non-Covid,one doing 30 day diet, one calling in from Miami), so I split 2 mags into 375 ml portions and dropped off for other 3

2007 Jadot Clos des Ursules Beaune 1er (mag)
This is drinking pretty well with a couple hours air, more black fruited (black cherry and plum) than I expected, some cocoa powder, smoke, herbs. Quite nice if not very long. B+/B

2010 Picq Vosgros Chablis 1er
(Mag) Ive had good luck with "10s recently, and this continues the streak Sweet apple, blood orange, some seashell, nice ripeness but balanced by good acidity, which leads into long minerally finish. A-/B+

Oysters, skate in brown butter/caper sauce, broccoli rabe, potatoes
2018 La Roche Bleue Jasnières
A little riper/more tropical than I expected, mango and pineapple, just a hint of CB wool, moderate acids. B

Sunday was some marinated Hmart steak and pork butt, yu choy, rice. Wine was the 2016 Clos de la Roilette Fleurie. Really nice showing- floral, black cherry, a little mushroom and damp earth. Stands up well to the Korean spices, need to check if I have more, I like this a lot. B++

Monday was Momofuko duck with tingly broccolini, with the 2005 Amiot Morey St Denis. I was curious as to whether it would be closed down, but with an hour of air seemed pretty open. Black and red raspberry, a bit of earth, touch of oak. OK with the duck, holding on, but not really sure this was worth holding a dozen years. B/B-

Grade disclaimer: I'm a very easy grader, basically A is an excellent wine, B a good wine, C
drinkable. Anything below C means I wouldn't drink at a party where it was only choice.Furthermore, I offer no promises of objectivity, accuracy, and certainly not of consistency,
