Default TN: Lobster wines, plus roses, Corsica, etc

Thursday was National Lobster Day, and friends invited us over (Stew Leonards had them on sale). Pup came as well. Started with smoked eel (Betsy had brought back from London) on green apple with a yogurt/chive sauce, a red pepper spread from our Armenian store, and dolmades.

2013 Breton €śLa Ritournelle€ť Crunchy red fruited PetNat, sour cherry Fun B

With Baked stuffed lobsters, corn, and salad

2011 Fevre €śMontee de Tonnere€ť Chablis 1er
Full, chalky, pear and oystershell, good length. This seems like it could age, though Fevre is a notorious premoxer, but now using Diam, so maybe will give a shot. B+/A-.

2012 Huet €śClos du Bourg€ť Vouvray Sec
Nice waxy/wooly Chenin, honey and citrus over apple, but there is just a hint of oxidation that is worrisome. B+?

2015 Jadot Beaujolais-Villages
Raspberry, cherry, light and straightforward. B

Friday with Ottolenghi turkey/zucchini burgers with sumac sauce & a beet/leek/walnut salad

2016 Cazin Cheverny rose
Very nice, high acids, sour black cherry and melon, good finish. B++

2016 Chidaine Touraine Rose
Lighter, juicy cherries, fresh. B

Lobsters were still on sale, so Saturday we did straight boiled with corn and salad.

1985 ZD Chardonnay
Exactly what one would expect, undrinkably oxidized. Could still taste some butter under the cider. D

2011 Bize €śAux Vergelesses€ť Savigny-les-Beaune 1er
Peach and apple, lemon zest, touch of hazelnut. Lovely young Meursault ringer. A-/B+

Sunday went to friends for dinner, started with dips and a couple of roses

2015 Commanderie De La Bargemone rose
Getting a little tired, shows sweet, needs zip. B-/C+

2016 Houchart rose (Cotes de Provence)
Light, fresh, easy red berry fruit. B/B-

Dinner was local lamb, green beans, roast potatoes, and salad

2012 Domaine Comte Abbatucci Cuvée Collection "Ministre Imperial"
Midbodied, snappy red fruit, sandalwood, herbs. Really tasty. B+/A-

Grade disclaimer: I'm a very easy grader, basically A is an excellent wine, B a good wine, C drinkable. Anything below C means I wouldn't drink at a party where it was only choice.Furthermore, I offer no promises of objectivity, accuracy, and certainly not of consistency.
