Default Some economic Bordeauxs

2009 Château Guerry ****

I love this wine. it has amazing PQR for Bordeaux . its fat and juicy. rather tight and tannic at first, with air it opens up and on second day its perfect with fat blood, toffee underlying smoothness under herbs, dark fruit, tobacco, forest floor and a long finish. I normally give this as a wine present or prize at work. the bottle and label is simply beautiful.

2011 Château de Camarsac cuvee selection Vieilles Vignes ****

Great PQR for Bordeaux. I asked a wine store to try to beat the PQR of their competitor's Chateau Guerry with earth and tobacco, and not thin at 130DKK. This is certainly a good contender. Its dark ripe fruits with dust, earth, toast and tobacco.

2010 Château Landat ***

I asked a wine store to try to beat the PQR of their competitor's Chateau Guerry with earth and tobacco, and not thin at 130DKK. They offered Château de Camarsac Cuvee selection vielles vignes and this one. Its more tannic, but a bit soda like, and licorice, red fruits, a bit of wood . not as fat as the guerry and camarsac. It has that cheap feel over it, but not like a cheap supermarket wine, but as if its a great wine mixed with a bit of cheap wine. its hard to explain. Normally Id go for the most tannic wine, but camarsac wins here as the best competitor to Guerry.

Chateau Gourran 2012 ***

Randomly visiting my mother and going to the trying to be a "gourmet supermarket" near her. They had a visit from one of their new wineries, a danish owner, in Cadillac Côtes de Bordeaux. They offered tastes of their wines, I skipped their rose and went for the two reds.
First was unoaked and thus as predicted boooring. but actaully surprisingly deep for unoaked. thus 3 stars. nice texture, medium dark red fruits, some nice tannins.

Chateau Gourran Grande Reserve 2011 ****

Oaked version and thus much more interesting with cedar, tobacco, more gripping texture, and deeper dark fruits, longer finish, fuller body.

Forgot :

Chateau Perenne 2011 ****

Slightly more expensive that Guerry, and very similar, albeit a bit more roughly textured and fatter and deeper.
