TN: Sancerre rose in NY, Aligote in GA
Sunday in GA my mom mentions her friend left a bottle of wine there few days before. A glass of the 2012 Folie a Deux Menage a Trois White is soft, emply, and a bit oxidized. Open few days so not fair to judge, but not looking for this.
Monday between banking/estate I made a stop at a small speciality wine shop, picked up the 2011 Henri Naudin-Ferrand Bourgogne-Aligote. Made poached shrimp Monday and a pasta-chicken dish Tuesday for my mom and aunt, had the Aligote with both. Good acids, lemon fruit, not especially long but satisfying and good for wine in Georgia suburbs. B
Wednesday happy to be home, I made tuna steaks, grilled squash, and cauliflower with pimenton for nice al fresco dinner with Betsy. Wine was the 2014 Lucien Crochet Sancerre rose- dry, crisp, minerally. Strawberry and citrus peel, wet rocks. One of my favorite roses of season so far. B+/A-
Grade disclaimer: I'm a very easy grader, basically A is an excellent wine, B a good wine, C drinkable. Anything below C means I wouldn't drink at a party where it was only choice.Furthermore, I offer no promises of objectivity, accuracy, and certainly not of consistency.
