[TN] '08 Ducroux Regnie
Tonight's dinner consisted of rabbit in mustard sauce, so I opted for my
preferred match for the dish, Cru Beaujolais. Alas, having drunk though most of our ready-to-drink Beaujolais (Lapierre Raisins and Brun's L'Ancien) I was faced with which bottle from the cellar to open. I chose: 2008 Christian Ducroux Regnié nose: slightly meaty, pomegranate palate: juicy, bright fruit, good acids Pretty much what the doctor ordered, though the slightly gamy aromas that first greeted me made me wonder if it was going to be too much wine for the dish. Quite lovely, all in all. Mark Lipton |
