Default 2002 Dom. Leflaive Batard Montrachet

I met a friend for dinner last night at a local bistro. Food was
quite good and he brought along a bottle of 2002 Dom. Leflaive. I
bought a bottle of NV Pierre Peters Cuvee Reserve Champagne off the
wine list that was quite good. A bit fruity but plenty of buttery
brioche aromas and flavors with a nice green apple note. The Leflaive
was quite smokey with the sulferous matchstick note that never really
left the wine even after decanting for an hour. While there was no
premox isue the sulfer was a bit offputting and I really didn't enjoy
the wine.
