Two Young Cal Cabs
With dinner last night at a local restaurant we ordered a couple of
Napa Cabernets off the wine list. Started with NV Pommery Rose Champagne-nice toast and berry nose. Fruity style showing cherry and raspberry flavors. Not too complex but nice quaffer with starters. 2006 Nickel & Nickel Stelling Ranch Cabernet-Deep purple color. Slightly briary nose with hint of mint and blackberry. Medium weight on the palate. Ample yet blanced fruit primarily cassis and blackberry. Slight herbal tinge on the finish. Smooth tannins. "B" 2007 Duckhorn Napa Cabernet- Inky purple. Typical Napa dust on the nose. Blueberries and gravel notes on the palate. Young and primary a bit bigger than the N&N. "B-" |

"B-" Duckhorn and N&N seem to mostly be on restaurant lists. Your Duckhorn note seems really typical. Thanks |
