Default [TN] '04 Ridge Ponzo

Tonight's dinner was a simple affair of spaghetti with homemade tomato
sauce from last summer. With this, we opened:

2004 Ridge Zinfandel Ponzo Vineyard
nose: ripe, plums, cedar, a hint of butterscotch
palate: creamy, rich, modest acids, deep fruit

The oak of its youth now mostly present as a creamy texture to the wine
and hints of butterscotch in the finish. The fruit is very ripe but not
overripe and the acidity is sufficient that it doesn't feel flabby. Not
really my favorite style of wine, but a decent example in its genre.
