[TN] Bebame!
Tonight, I arrived home after a late night at work to find an open
bottle in the kitchen. The bottle was of a wine I'd purchased over the holidays in Berkeley: 2007 Ah Wines Bebame Red Wine El Dorado County (65% Cab Franc; 35% Gamay) nose: bright Gamay fruit with a leafy undertone palate: Gamayish but more hefty, smooth and fairly rich with modest acids Very fun wine! This wine, made by Steve Edmunds of Edmunds St. John from El Dorado County fruit, is clearly cut from the same cloth as early drinking Loire blends such as Cheverny Rouge (or even, at a stretch, CRB's Pif or Breton's Trinch!) but with a California twist. Clean, fun, cheery, food-friendly and sealed under screwcap, I'm going to find more of this wine. Mark Lipton -- alt.food.wine FAQ: http://winefaq.cwdjr.net |
