Default TN Ch Beychevelle 1975

Beychevelle 75 probably is as good as it ever will be, but it might last
a few more years. The harshness typical of many 75's has rounded, and
the balance of acid and tannin now is under control. The color still is
rather deep with only a slight bit of age showing around the rim. Many
of the Beychevelles from the 70s were quite decent, but not among the
top wines of that era. The taste of this wine is rather typical
Bordeaux, but perhaps a bit generic. I would not pay a large sum for
this at a restaurant, but, if you find some that has been stored well on
sale at a low cost, it might be worth tasting a bottle to see if you
want more. It will not win rave reviews from the critics, but it serves
well enough with lamb and other typical red Bordeaux food matches.
