TN: Simon Bize, Savigny-les-Beaune, 1999
This is the "les Vergelesses" (sorry if misspelled) vineyard.
In the beginning, there is some light strawberry and cherry flavors, that with airing turn to menthol and camphor. The lighter fruits show up in the glass as well, but with air these turn darker. There's good acidity, a wallop of oak that seems to be holding in the fruit, and some minor tannins that could be resolved in a year or two. B+ / 87-88 Mark S -- |
