TN: 2006 co-op GV
We were having leftover roast chicken, along with some red cabbage and
pancetta. Cabbage made me think dry Riesling from maybe Alsace or Austria, but actually came upstairs with a different Austrian, the 2006 Domane Wachau (Freie Weingärtner Wachau) "Terrassen" Gruner Veltliner Federspiel . Light to medium body, nose of flowers, peas, and white pepper. Green apple and peach fruit, good acidity, just a hint of spritz. A little saline/rock edge to finish. Not especially complex, but quite enjoyable, and a deal at about $12. B/B+ Grade disclaimer: I'm a very easy grader, basically A is an excellent wine, B a good wine, C mediocre. Anything below C means I wouldn't drink at a party where it was only choice. Furthermore, I offer no promises of objectivity, accuracy, and certainly not of consistency. |
