Default TN: Burg and Brezeme

My turn to cook Wed. Baked and then grilled pork ribs, sauteed
collards, broccoli, and the 2005 Eric Texier Cotes du Rhone Brezeme.
Light to medium weight, good fresh acidity, Red and black raspberries,
some earth, a bit of pepper. Nice wine, I should have bought more,
will remedy. B+

Thursday Betsy said she was going to do fish, I put three whites in
fridge to chill. When she got home she said salmon, so I went with PN
instead - the 2002 Gabriel Billard Bourgogne. With the fish and
cauliflower, the Pinot went well without setting off any fireworks.
Straightforward cherry fruit, plenty of ripeness, ok acidity. Not a
lot of length here, and a bit of barnyard. I'm fairly brett tolerant,
so didn't cause me any real issues, but if you react strongly to brett
this isn't for you. The lack of length on the finish bothered me more
than the funk. OK, not great, B-

Grade disclaimer: I'm a very easy grader, basically A is an excellent
wine, B a good wine, C mediocre. Anything below C means I wouldn't
drink at a party where it was only choice. Furthermore, I offer no
promises of objectivity, accuracy, and certainly not of consistency.
