Default TN: Brancott Reserve SB

Last night was a dinner of left-overs from a large gathering on the
weekend. Boneless turkey breast braised in homemade mole. A good mole
is a wonderful experience and anyone who hasn't lived in the SW US and
experienced an authentic one is living an unfulfilled life.

Had tried a chilled Beaujolais Cru the first time around for the
crowd. Georges Dubeouf 2005 Julienas was crisp with sour cherry and
slightly tart strawberry notes. Pleasant enough, but for the rerun I
thought a crisp white might stand up to the mole a little better.

Brought out a Brancott Marlborough Reserve Sauvignon Blanc 2006. Shelf
talker notes had said citrus and flowers predominated. What I got was
grapefruit and green apples with just a hint of boiled eggs on the
nose. Crisp and refreshing, but not what I was looking for. I'm still
not quite a fan of NZ SB, too much citrus usually and not enough
flint.
