Selbach-Oster 2006

Last night I had the pleasure of tasting 12 different wines from the 2006
vintage of Selbach-Oster. I was lucky to have Johannes Selbach pour the
wines. HE considers the 2006 vintage the best he has produced and he has
produced many great wines in the past. We tasted everything from a
hallbtrocken Kabinett to two BAs. They were all rich wines that reflected
the terrior of where they were grown. Well balanced with nice fruit and
acididity. They were great now but except for the kabinett they all need
several years to really show how great they really are. He declassified some
of the wines so some of the Spatllese is really and Auslese or BA. They are
not yet in the US as most are being bottled now. The crop was small but
great so those wanting great German Wines should pick them up as soon as
they arrive in your local store. If anyone is interested I can give tasting
notes. If I did so now this would be a very long post. Buy them and hold
them.

I'd love to see any notes you feel like posting, especially on the
Zeltinger Schlossberg Sptlese and the Z. Sonnenuhr Kabinett, which
seem to usually be my favorites in most vintages.

I hate this! You are reviewing the 2006s and the 2005s have not showed up
in Spain yet.

Thanks for the notes.
