It depends :-). At least in the US, there are many varieties of grapes
that are only very remotely related to the classic wine grapes of
Europe. Many of these are used as table grapes and many table grapes
are hybrids of various grapes from the US and Europe. Careful crosses
and selection of varieties over time can be done to make grapes ripen
early, have a desired color, have a desired size, have desired levels
of acid and sweetness, resist certain pests, be seedless, grow best in
a certain climate, etc. In any given region of the US where wine
grapes can be grown, there usually is a huge variety of table grapes
that can be grown that ripen from much earlier to much later than the
wine grapes. Of course in prime wine grape growing regions such as
Napa, one is not likely to find many table grapes being grown. Prime
wine grape growing land there is much too expensive for growing table
grapes.
