Default TN: 1997 Ch. Batailley

Got my annual Xmas gift of Hugh Johnson's pocket guide and noted that
his view is that 1997 bordeaux are fading. That prompted me to open a
bottle of 97 Ch. Batailley. A very pleasant surprise, given Hugh's
negative view. This 5th growth was delicious. Clear Paullic nose and
palate. Pure fruit middle, nice long, 30-s plus, fruit-driven,
cedar/spice-laden finish. Still good the second night. An A-/B+ on
the soon-to-be-standard Dale W. scale.
