Default Asian veg cookbooks

Has anyone got any recommendations? I've found Madhur Jaffrey's World of the
East: Vegetarian Cooking which looks quite good:

http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/...810334-9750241

Thanks!

I really like Madhur Jaffrey's stuff. One of her Indian cookbooks is
one of my most heavily used cookbooks. (Not purely vegetarian but I
often make the meat based recipes with gluten substituted.) I haven't
looked at the cookbook you mention, but I have looked through
"Madhur Jaffrey's World Vegetarian : More Than 650 Meatless Recipes from
Around the World by MADHUR JAFFREY (Paperback)"

which has some really wonderful looking recipes.

Another cookbook which I'm impressed by is:
Passionate Vegetarian by Crescent Dragonwagon

I checked it out from the library when it first came out, so I don't
remember if it has a section specifically for asian food, but there are
certainly asian-inspired recipes. (It is a huge book- 1120 pages) I
didn't buy it at the time because it was beyond my price range (as was
the book above- I just can't spend $40+ on a book!) I'm not sure I'd
buy this book if you want authentic, but I've always found her stuff to
be tasty, if not exactly what I've expected.

Is there a specific asian cuisine you are interested in? And does it
offend you to look at a recipe that calls for meat? Most of my Chinese
and Indian cookbooks are non-vegetarian, but I generally just adapt
away...

I found this very useful:

There is even a free trial download.

Hello Bob,
I'm not familiar with "World of the East" though it looks good - I've used a
lot of Madhur Jaffrey veg. recipes from non-veg. cookbooks and they're
always great.
I would also recommend her "World Vegetarian" though it's obviously not
exclusively Asian.

Thanks for the suggestions. No it doesn't offend me to look at meat - I'm
not actually a vegetarian (yet)! I have been gradually eating less meat, and
almost all my cooking is veg now. My favourite food is Indian, but I pretty
much like anything asian.

Thanks, QVC was in my wish list at Amazon so I've ordered that one on your
recommendation!
