cooking bread/cake in a crockpot?

Has anyone tried this? I know there's an insert you buy for this purpose but
curious about the outcome.
thanks!

You can recycle a coffee can that'll fit in your slow cooker and save a
few bucks. I don't drink coffee, but neighbors have always generously
donated their old empty cans when asked. I've only tried crockpot bread
once and it was okay -- very crusty. Cooking bread the traditional way
doesn't take as long, though. Below link is for crockpot bread from
frozen loaf. You can use your own recipe and skip the thawing stage.
