Vegan (alt.food.vegan) This newsgroup exists to share ideas and issues of concern among vegans. We are always happy to share our recipes- perhaps especially with omnivores who are simply curious- or even better, accomodating a vegan guest for a meal!

Certainly had a very interesting and worthwhile life. I like his
positive contributions to society.

From the URL you provided

Weaver also was an activist for protecting the environment and combating
world hunger.

He served as president of Love Is Feeding Everyone (LIFE), which fed
150,000 needy people a week in Los Angeles County. He founded the
Institute of Ecolonomics, which sought solutions to economic and
environmental problems. He spoke at the United Nations and Congress, as
well as to college students and school children about fighting pollution
and starvation.

"Earthship" was the most visible of Weaver's crusades. He and his wife
Gerry built a solar-powered Colorado home out of recycled tires and
cans. The thick walls helped keep the inside temperature even year around.

Empty blabber. The "aras" who post here also claim to
be "activists", but they are entirely passive when it
comes to animal "rights".

Honorary post.

That doesn't translate to having a sound understanding
of any of those issues. My guess is he was a typical
Hollywood hysteric who saw simplistic answers to
complex problems. Hunger in the world? Give people
food! Pollution? Shut down the sources of pollution.

That's cute. That sort of thing isn't available to
people who aren't showbiz millionaires.

You don't do *anything* actively to promote animal rights. Nothing but
hot air.

Weaver didn't give anyone any food.

What is the point. He's the type of negative person I left this group.
It's pretty sad whan anti vegan people come to a vegan group just to
fight. Very strange disorder.

You left the group - or *did* you??? - because you adhere to weird
beliefs you can't defend.

alt.animals.ethics.vegetarian is not a "vegan" newsgroup.

You attempt unsuccessfully to defend "veganism". You don't have an
answer for the fact that "veganism" is based on a massive logical
fallacy. You don't have a defense for the fact that your refraining
from eating meat is an emptily symbolic gesture.

I don't think so. I haven't been subscribed to a.f.v.,
but I just did (temporarily) and downloaded 1000
headers, and the overwhelming majority of them are from
a.a.e.v. regulars, usually participating in a thread
started by that shitwipe ****wit David Harrison that he
crossposted over there.

There was always a lot of overlap between the groups,
and it appears ****wit's spiteful crossposting has
driven most of the a.f.v. regulars out.

You remind me of the sad Yankee fan in a Mets newgroup, really all he is

You remind me of an adolescent who just refuses to face
reality, and who can't understand that the world isn't
the way he wants it to be. Very comical.
