What type of disorder is this?

There's a person I've encountered who is always
very critical of other people. For example he criticizes
people for being vegetarian for ethical reasons, and
for health reasons, and criticizes the suggestion that
people try to deliberately contribute to decent lives
for livestock with their lifestyle. But, he can never
suggest a superior alternative to that of which he is
so critical. Is there a name for that type of disorder,
and/or someplace where people can learn more
about it?

Kinda sounds like some people who frequent this newsgroup. :^) Aside from
depression, it doesn't sound like any kind of clinical disorder that I have
heard of. Maybe just anger or closedmindedness.

Speaking of depression, Mr Strutz, how are you doing since the Steelers
got their asses whipped Sunday night?

The technical name for that disorder is PITA

I believe the scientific name for it is "ignorance." ;-)

Oh man, you had to bring that up. The Steelers kicked New England's and
Philadelphia's butt in the middle of the season and surprised everyone, but
they've struggled to beat even mediocre teams since then. I think they came
together as a team in the middle of hte season and peaked early. Cowher has
never been able to win the big playoff games. He certainly was no match for
Belichick - I'm not sure anybody is.

Ah well, the Steelers were good this year and they brought a lot of football
spirit to Pittsburgh. My family has been season ticket holders since the
early 70s and I went to all of those games during the glory years. They will
always be my team no matter what.

He is definately a jerk. He lies a lot too...a *whole lot!!!*.
But I thought there might be a term for someone who is
always critical of other's ideas, but never reveals his own.
Coward would fit, but I still feel like there might be a better
term.

Really I should stop reading his posts since they are
never of any value, but I do enjoy pointing out what a
liar he is.

Scrubs,

Ignorance is like Arrogance. Terms used by psuedo-intellects to describe
those more physically attractive than themselves.

NPD - probably right. These kind of people elevate their own low self esteem
by systematically bringing others down. They do not offer anything positive,
because that would be helping others. NPDs are devout egoists.
