Default INFO: Hillside sanctuary supplements.

Hillside have just started doing a line in supplements for those that
are interested. No B12 sadly :-((

http://www.hillside.org.uk/acatalog/copy_of_Gifts.html

For almost twenty years, Wendy Valentine's name has been synonymous
with care and concern for horses.
In 1995, Wendy formed Hillside Animal Sanctuary after witnessing the
plight of the battery hen and
has since helped and campaigned
for animals in need, particularly those who are so routinely abused
in the intensive
factory farming industry.

Omega 3+6+9 500mg
30 VEGAN CAPSULES

vertese™ Omega 3.6.9 capsules provide a balanced range of Omega 3, 6
and 9 fatty acids in an optimal 2:1:1 ratio. Omega 3, 6 and 9 fatty
acids are needed by the body to help maintain a healthy heart and
joints and to reflect the intake of fatty acids in a typical, healthy
heart diet (such as that of Greenland Inuits).

Each vertese Omega Oil capsule capsule contains 500mg of a balanced
blend of seven plant oils which provide:

200mg of the Omega 3 Essential Fatty Acid, Alpha-Linolenic Acid ( ALA)
100mg of the Omega 6 Essential Fatty Acid, Linoleic Acid (LA)
100mg of the Omega 9 Fatty Acid, Oleic Acid (OL)
The capsules are made from cold pressed vegetable oils and contain
100% of the RDA of vitamin E. Vitamin E is an antioxidant which helps
protect body fats from the harmful effects of excess free radicals. It
can also help to maintain healthy looking skin.

Evening Primrose Oil 1000mg
30 VEGAN CAPSULES

Evening Primrose Oil is extracted from seeds of the plant Oenothera
Biennis. Whilst there is a large selection of Evening Primrose Oil
supplements on the market, this product boasts a high level (9%) of
the essential fatty acid Gamma Linolenic Acid (GLA).

Particularly known as a supplement chosen by women, Evening Primrose
Oil can be beneficial in a number of other areas. GLA is known to be
involved in the production of a number of short-lived hormone like
factors called prostaglandins. These messengers play a major role in
many functions such as mediating inflammation, hormonal balance and
blood-flow to internal organs.

Many skincare creams and products also now contain either Gamma
Linolenic Acid or Evening Primrose Oil.
This formulation also has added Natural Vitamin E, which can help
maintain healthy looking skin and a healthy immune system.

Suitable for vegetarians and vegans.

Natural Vitamin E 400i.u.
30 VEGAN CAPSULES

Vitamin E is found naturally in plant seed oils, cereals, leafy
greens, wholemeal bread and egg yolks. The natural form of Vitamin E
is D-Alpha Tocopherol, although there are several synthetic versions.
Unlike some other supplements, vertese™ Natural Vitamin E 400iu
supplements only use Natural Vitamin E, which is approximately twice
as effective as synthetic Vitamin E (sometimes called DL-Alpha
Tocopheryl Acetate).

Vitamin E is a fat-soluble vitamin. It plays an important role in the
body, along side Vitamin C, to protect against potentially harmful
free radicals which can damage healthy cell membranes. It also helps
to maintain healthy skin, which is why it is sometimes found in suntan
lotions and moisturisers.

Skin damage such as sunburn places a substantial burden on the body's
natural resources for repair. It is therefore particularly important
to ensure that the body's nutritional requirements are met. Food
supplements such as vertese™ Natural Vitamin E 400iu capsules can help
to achieve this by supplementing the diet with Vitamin E.

Vitamin E plays a role in helping to maintain a healthy heart and
circulatory system. Eating a healthy diet which includes whole grain
cereals, nuts, and poly-unsaturated oils can help maintain a healthy
circulatory system.

This vitamin is popular with athletes because of its role in
circulation, and the maintaining of healthy blood cells, nerves and
muscles, properties which are not just for athletes!
Suitable for vegetarians and vegans.

of a healthy heart.

The vegetarian society had this to say on Vertese

A MAGICAL COMBINATION

BRUNEL HEALTHCARE’S VERTESE™ RANGE SPONSOR THE VEGETARIAN SOCIETY
AWARDS 2003
The Vegetarian Society is pleased to announce that this year’s
prestigious Vegetarian Society Awards will be sponsored by vertese™,
the popular range of gelatin-free vitamin & mineral supplements.

The Vegetarian Society Awards, are well known to the food industry and
public alike. They aim to promote best practice amongst caterers and
manufacturers, and highlight the importance of integrity in the
vegetarian marketplace. Those companies who have striven to improve
the choice and range of vegetarian products and services on offer in
the UK, during the last year, will be nominated by the public to win
one of 7 prestigious awards.

vertese™ vitamin and mineral supplements are an ideal partner for The
Vegetarian Society as they exemplify the level of customer care and
innovation that The Society knows vegetarians value. vertese™
supplements are made using high-quality soft gel capsule shells, based
on potato starch. They look just like the conventional soft gelatin
capsules, feel the same, are produced in a similar way and exhibit the
same properties, without the gelatin. This allows vegetarians, vegans
and, indeed, anyone wanting to avoid animal products, to enjoy the
health benefits of plant based oil supplements such as Evening
Primrose, Vitamin E, Flaxseed, Omega Oils, Garlic and Multivitamins
with Evening Primrose.

Ron Stagg, Managing Director of Brunel Healthcare Ltd, which produces
the vertese™ range said:
" The Vegetarian Society Awards are highly coveted and prized by both
caterers, manufacturers and leading retailers. They receive a great
deal of positive attention from the public and the media and help to
promote the high quality of food and services that vegetarians can and
should expect. We are extremely pleased to be associated with this
exciting and prestigious event.”

Winners of the Awards will be revealed at a magical drinks reception
and Awards presentation evening on Thursday 30th October, at London’s
Magic Circle.

Notes for editors

vertese™ gelatin free supplements carry The Vegetarian Society’s
‘approved trademark‘. Established in 1969, it has become the most
widely recognised and trusted stamp of vegetarian approval anywhere in
the world. The symbol can be found on a huge range of products,
including retail food and drinks, catering supplies, household goods,
cosmetics and toiletries.

The strength of the symbol is based on products meeting the following
criteria:

Products must be free from all meat, poultry, fish, shellfish and
crustacea.

Products must not contain slaughter by-products such as gelatine or
animal fat.

Any eggs used in the product must be free-range.

Approval will only be granted to products or ingredients that have not
been tested on animals.

Approval will not be given to genetically modified ingredients as
these are likely to have been tested on animals.

The Society also requires that cross contamination does not occur
between vegetarian and non-vegetarian products during food production.
No other symbol gives consumers such reassurance and inspires the
trust that comes from the Vegetarian Society approved symbol.

The Vegetarian Society is the oldest vegetarian organisation in the
world. It offers an independent voice to promote and provide
information on vegetarianism.
