Sushi (alt.food.sushi) For talking sushi. (Sashimi, wasabi, miso soup, and other elements of the sushi experience are valid topics.) Sushi is a broad topic; discussions range from preparation to methods of eating to favorite kinds to good restaurants.

Default Another group with our posts...

I've stumbled on a vBulletin group on the net that contains all the
postings that are on the Google group that I'm posting this on.

This message will appear there as well.

http://www.mombu.com/cuisine/f-sushi-and-sashimi-666/

What is the chicken and what is the egg?

Is the Google group the first of this group or is this "mombu.com" the
real group.

I find vBulletin much easier to use than Google and it has options
that will make it better as well.

Anyone?

They are both accessing usenet.

Both are eggs.

Neither. This is a usenet contrivance. Google makes the feed available
via a web page. So does mombu apparently.

Usenet is independent of any particular node.

Google is actually a portal to a Usenet news server,
something anyone can set up if they have the software and
a site willing to give them a newsfeed. Google's only
"value" is that they never delete anything, unlike most
servers, plus they bought the old dejanews server archives,
which include posts that go back to the mid-80s.

Mombu? Never heard of them. There are a number of websites
that copy Usenet articles and use them as search-engine
honeypots, collecting errant clicks due to keyword matches
so they can collect pennies from advertisers.
