HOUSTON MARGARITA SOCIETY 26TH ANNUAL CHARITY BALL
Major Event is Largest Toys for Tots Contributor
The Houston Margarita Society puts the bad 'Rita behind them and is
moving forward with plans for one of Houston's largest charity
efforts.
2,000 Houston-area professionals will party with a purpose during the
upcoming 26th Annual Margarita Society Charity Ball, Saturday, October
1, 2005 at the Hornberger Center, 2151 West Holcombe Boulevard in
Houston's Medical Center.
Evolved as one of Houston's most sought-after private parties, the
black tie affair marks the beginning of the gala season for many local
professionals. The event is by invitation only and admission is a new,
high quality, unwrapped toy or a cash donation. Proceeds from this
year's soiree will again be donated to the Marine Toys for Tots
Foundation and to Horseshoes from the Heart. Bruce Lowther, Houston
Margarita Society President, said "The Houston Margarita Society has
been the single largest contributor of toys to the Marine Toys for Tots
in past years, and due to the recent hurricane, the need is greater
than ever. We are confident that our organization's old and new
friends will attend in record numbers to help lift the spirits of
disadvantaged children in the Houston area at Christmas."
Guests at the Ball can dance the night away to one of Houston's
premier bands, Fried Ice Cream, and enjoy delectable hors d'oeuvres
courtesy of Cantina Laredo, D'Wine Restaurant and The Hideaway. A
silent auction will feature exciting one-of-a kind items provided by
The Legends Group, artist Allan Rodewald, Royal Oaks Jewelry and Sissel
and Sons, among others. State-of-the-art Margaritas will be poured
along with other popular cocktails. The Houston Margarita Society,
Inc., (d.b.a. Children Charities Assistance of Houston, Inc.), a
non-profit 501
The goals of the organization are to provide disadvantaged Houston-area
children with gifts at Christmas and to become the most effective
contributor to children's causes in the Houston area. The Margarita
Society Charity Ball has grown since its inception and today is one of
the largest events of its kind in the southwest. Donations are tax
deductible and participating businesses enjoy special recognition for
their support. To obtain an invitation or discuss sponsorship, contact
Susan Groves, the organization's marketing chair.
