Default RYAN'S FAMILY STEAKHOUSE MORRISTOWN, TN INACCURATE SIGNS, Is it FALSE ADVERTISEMENT?

I WAS WRITING IN REGARDS TO MY VISIT TO THE RYAN'S FAMILY STEAKHOUSE ON
AUGUST 16, 2005 LOCATED ON 203 South Davy Crockett Parkway
Morristown, TN 37814. We went to the restaurant to enjoy a good meal of
catfish which was advertised to be served on every Tuesday night. We
had seen the sign last Saturday night after we finished our meal. The
sign was posted in plain view right beside the door on the way out. It
plainly stated to join Ryan's on Tuesday night. CATFISH SERVED EVERY
TUESDAY NIGHT. JOIN US. Well, tonight when we arrived at the restaurant
tonight, guess what??? No catfish.... The buffet was full of the some
of the sorriest looking food I believe I have ever seen. They had some
kind of chuckwagon, along with dried up pizza, greasy looking
spaghetti, some nasty looking tacos with the taco meat full and
floating in grease.., chicken floating in some kind of nasty looking
water, fried chicken that could have probably cooked a bit longer....
some grilled fish that tasted like it came out of Cherokee Lake. The
pizza looked like it had been sitting there all day and then they had
their usual veggies that weren't the most appetizing. Anyway, we asked
about the catfish and the waitress mumbeled something about corporate
advertises fish, and that was where the sign came from. Anyway, no one
removed the sign... So, we along with other patrons went on the little
adventure of trying to find something to eat.... We picked and prodded
thru and finally founs something, definitely not $10.00 worth...
Anyway, there was another lady who was complaining about the signs
stating catfish served on Tuesdays also, She said she saw the signs
posted in the banquet rooms. Her son had also cut his finger on a
corndog stick.... Some other manager told her something and the lady
and her son got up and left. I asked to talk to him and he just ran
away and hid in the office. Well, we went ahead and tried to stuff down
that crappy meal. After I finished, I asked the waitress to speak to
the manager. Well, low and behoold about 5 minutes later here comes
some baldheaded little manager out with waitresses telling him about
the sign. He acted as if he still did not know what they were talking
about. I spoke to him and he came over to my table. When asked about
the signs, he said "what are you talking about? Are you talking about
the Coca Cola sign in the parking lot?" I said "no, the one 6 feet from
you. right next to the door." He said "Oh, the sign was there because
it was , now get this,,.... "USUALLY COVERED WITH TAKE HOME MENUS" and
he also stated that they just have too many banners to keep up with and
that some are left up." He still did not offer to take the sign down. I
told him I wanted some catfish, that what was what we came there to
eat. He said, "Oh, I can fix you some, but it wil take 20-30
minutes...." I responed, no, I have already eaten, Why would I want any
now... The waitress told us or made it seem to be that they could not
make any due to the corporation putting out the signs...He started up
with all this stuff and excuses, but would never give any REAL reason
as to why the sign was there.... I kept pushing him on it and he
finally removed the sign and then offered us some stupid looking little
certificates that said EMPLOYEE OF THE MONTH on them. When I asked him
what those were, why are you giving me something that says EMPLOYEE ON
THE MONTH???? He said, and these were his exact words..... "If you want
me to have you removed from this restaurant, I can have you removed?"
Anyway, that about sums it up...... I never got a name because he was
not wearing a name tag.... We pleasantly got up, RIPPED UP THE
certificates he gave us put the ripped up pieces on the table and
left.... I then came home and called the store back so that I could get
his name... The young lady said his name was Mr. Gosnell. And when I
asked her for a coprorate phone number to contact and report this
incident, she told me they didn't have a phone number for me to call...
So, I then called the Newport, TN location and got great service from
their store manager, He said he would handle it and call me back. I
have no idea as to why We were treated in this manner or as to why
RYAN'S STEAKHOUSE in MORRISTOWN, TN INACCURATELY ADVERTISES that they
have Fried catfish on Tuesday nights and then are unwilling to removed
the signs unless they are pressed on the issue. I guess I will just
have to do a little bit of investigating on my own. I think I wil bring
my digital videocamera with me and start going from Ryan's locations
all over the South and just see how many other locations that they
conduct business in this manner. No other customer should have to go
thru an ordeal like this... I guess I can forewarn other people before
they lose their money... and then get talked DOWN to by some little
smart manager who thinks people are dumb enough to accept some lame
excuse of "the reason for a sign being posted is because it is usually
covered with menus" and also the lame excuse of "we have too many
banners here to keep up with' BEWARE, STAY AWAY FROM RYAN'S ,
Morristown, TN 2005 LOCATED ON 203 South Davy Crockett Parkway
Morristown, TN 37814. Oh yeah, by the way, give them a call and see if
they care... no one on that night seemed to give a damn.... The Ryan's
phone number in Morristown is (423) 317-9079 Just ask them about
posting signs that are not accurate... GEESH, RYAN'S manager at
Morristown, GET IT TOGETHER...CLEAN IT UP!!!

YOU went to a hog trough....and who made you walk in the door? Did
they point a gun to your head?

YOU deserve what you were served. Raise your standards and look for
a dining experience that offers table linens next time.

What a chuckle......(that was my laugh for the week)...you are
RIGHT!!! Why on earth would you need any table linens when you only
know hog trough.

When you stop drinking...it allows you
to get in touch with your real personality...
the one that made you start to drink in the
first place. Anon
