When you go to the webb site rather than them sending stuff to the newsgroup or
your mailbox, it isn't SPAM. I didn't go to the site, and this -is- a
reference place to find restaurant info, so that message was not SPAM.

Incorrect. Usenet is not an advertising medium, except in certain
newsgroups specifically set up for that purpose. That original
posting absolutely was spam - and it was barely on-topic spam at
that. This group is for the discussion of restaurants everwhere, not
a forum for advertisers to flog their restaurant-related (barely)
wares.

newsgroups specifically set up for that purpose. That original
posting absolutely was spam - and it was barely on-topic spam at
that. This group is for the discussion of restaurants everwhere, not
a forum for advertisers to flog their restaurant-related (barely)
