Default Baltimore Crabcakes

I'm not really asking where in Baltimore to get the best crabcakes
(though if you'd like to tell me, fire away!). I think that questions
been asked enough.

But, the one time I was in Baltimore, at the inner harbor, I had
crabcakes at a restaurant which I'm sure didn't have the best in town,
but they were still damn good! So just in case I don't make it to the
best in town (bad weather or something) I just want to try to figure
out the name of this restaurant.

It's probably one of the trendier places on the inner harbor (though
there may be a ton of them now, not sure). It was big, was sort of a
woody, terraced affair, with an almost tropical theme. Lots of weird,
colorful mobiles or hanging sculptures of some sort. Anyone know what
place this was? Probably a little overexpensive too.

Well, and help appreciated, or better yet, advice on where to get the
best crabcakes at the inner harbor or within walking distance.

Thanks!

Try Michael's in Towson.

Hi there,

I saw your post at the Google group rec.food.restaurants and thought
you might like to know that I am starting a Baltimore "Foodies" Group.

We will be having monthly events, which consist of sampling tasting
menus at many of the great, and, perhaps, lesser known Baltimore
restaurants.

If you're interested let me know and I can add you to our mailing list.
Also, our website will be live Wednesday the 12th. If you would like
to take a look at the site, without hsigning up for the mailing list,
let me know and I'll send you the link.
Bon appetite

http://www.gandmcrabcakes.com/index.html

http://www.olivegroverestaurant.com/

These two places are within spittin distance of each other, close to BWI. I
travel through the area on a regular basis and they have some of the best
crabcakes I've ever had.
YMMV

There's a place in Towson called Michael's that serves up some really good
crabcakes. I'm hoping to make another sojourn to Baltimore in the next few
months, and that will definitely be one of my stops.
