Default Best restaurants in Little Italy, NYC as of Oct. 2003?

I know, I know, the best Italian restaurants aren't in Little Italy in
Manhatten. But, I want to go down and eat at one in Little Italy, to
say I did. I am curious what people think are the best restaurants in
Little Italy.

I am leaning towards Lombardi's for pizza, but would like to hear
other options also.

Thanks...
