Crockpot Swiss Steak

Crockpot Swiss Steak

Delicious with mashed potatoes. Thicken slightly if desired.

Serving Size: 4

1 1/2 lb Boneless beef ; outside round, sliced thinly
1 large Onion ; sweet, sliced
28 oz Diced tomatoes ; canned

Slice the meat very thin in strips. Sear on each side in batches. Place in
a crockpot on high. Slice onions and throw in pan the meat was browned in.
Brown slightly and add to meat with tomatoes. Cover and simmer on high
about 3 hours. Meat should be tender and fall apart.
Thicken if desired and serve over mashed potatoes.

Helen's Hamburger Patties In Mushroom Sauce

Serving Size: 4


-MEAT PATTIES-
3/4 lb Lean ground beef
1/2 cup Oatmeal less 1 Tbsp
1/2 cup Milk
1/4 tsp Mustard powder
1 d Nutmeg
1 Egg
-SAUCE-
1 cn Mushroom soup
water to make sauce
Mashed potatoes
Veggie

Soak the oatmeal in the milk about 1/2 hour then add egg to it and mix=2E
Mix remaining meat engredients and mix well. Form into small flattened
meat patties and brown them. Remove the patties from the pan and add the
mushroom soup and stir up any bits in the pan. Add enough water, usually
1/2 can to make the sauce to your desired consistency. Put meat patties
back in pan and simmer for 1/2 hour. Serve with mashed potatoes and a
veggie. We like green beans. Recipe by Helen Peagram




Mom's Corned Beef Hash & Cabbage

Serving Size: 4

1 can Corned beef
4 cup Potatoes ; diced
3 Tbsp Onion ; minced
1/2 cup Milk
1 tsp Fat
Salt and pepper
Cabbage

Brown onion in fat; add corned beef and break
up. (this works better if can has been chilled first) Add cooked potatoes,
milk and seasonings. Simmer for 30 min. Prepare cabbage and cook. Serve

Helen's Pork Chops And Beans

Serving Size: 4

4 Pork chops ; loin or
Shoulder
30 oz Beans in tomato sauce
1 md Onion ; minced
1/2 tsp Salt
6 tsp Ketchup

Preheat oven to 350* Brown chops lightly. Mix beans and remaining
ingredients. Place in a 9 inch square pan or casserole. Top with chops and
bake 45 min.
