Johnnycakes

1 tsp. salt
1 Tbsp. sugar
1 cup white cornmeal
Boiling water
grease for cooking

Combine dry ingredients in a bowl. Pour enough boiling water over
ingredients to make stiff dough. Beat thoroughly and let stand a few
minutes to thicken. Thin dough with water or milk to a consistency that
will drop off the end of a spoon. Drop onto greased hot griddle by
tablespoon. Cook slowly about 5 minutes on each side.
