Applesauce Cake
Quick and Easy Applesauce Cake

From: "Mariann" >
I am looking for applesauce cake. My grandmother used to make this
delicious
moist cake.

Applesauce Cake

1 3/4 cups flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/3 cup unsalted butter, at room temperature
3/4 cup firmly packed dark brown sugar
1 large egg
1 cup unsweetened applesauce
1/2 cup chopped pecans

Preheat oven to 350 F. Grease and flour 8-inch square metal cake pan.
In a medium bowl, combine flour, baking soda, cinnamon, and salt.
In large bowl, with an electric mixer, beat butter and brown sugar until
light and fluffy. Beat in egg until combined. Beat in applesauce.
On low speed, add dry ingredients and beat just until combined and flour
is
barely visible. Stir in pecans.
Scrape batter into prepared cake pan. Bake 30 to 35 minutes or until
toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.
Cool in pan on a rack completely before cutting into 2-inch squares.

Quick and Easy Applesauce Cake

Very tasty and easy! I use the individual containers of applesauce .
I have used different favored applesauce too.

1/4 cup sugar
2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
1/2 cup margarine, softened
3 eggs
1 (16 ounce) can applesauce
1 (18 1/2 ounce) box yellow cake mix

Mix together and pour into a 10inch Bundt Cake
Bake for 55 minutes at 350 F

Applesauce Cake

2 cups. all-purpose flour
2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. baking powder
1 1/2 teaspoons cinnamon
1 tsp. freshly grated nutmeg
1/4 tsp. ground cloves
1 cup. raisins
1 cup. chopped pecans
1 stick butter
1 large egg
1 cup. sugar
2 tsp. vanilla
2 cups. applesauce
1 Tbsp confectioners' sugar (for topping)

Preheat oven to 350 F. Stir together the flour, soda, baking powder, and
spices. In a separate bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until
light and fluffy. Beat in the egg and then slowly add a portion of the dry
ingredients
then a little of the applesauce, and continue alternating wet and dry
ingredients, beginning and ending with dry ingredients. Add the raisins,
pecans, and vanilla at the end.
Turn into a greased and floured pan, and bake 35 to 40 minutes or until
cake
tests done. To test for doneness inserted toothpick into the center of the
cake -- it should remain clean when removed.
Cool the cake in the pan. Dust with confectioners sugar after removing
from
pan, when cake is cool.
